Phileas Leger - Shediac, Jan. 28 - (Special) -
Phileas Leger, former resident of Moncton, passed away in Providence St. Joseph Home here this afternoon following an illness of about a week's duration. He was 72 years of age. While his passing was not entirely unexpected it will be learned with profound regret by a wide circle of friends in this town and in Moncton. The late Mr. Leger was born in St. Paul, Kent County, but moved to Moncton at an early age and spent the greater part of his life there. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. T. Cormier and Mrs. J. F. Jeffery, Moncton; Mrs. Ralph Donovan, Sunny Brae and Mrs. Arthur Sexton, Borden, P.E.I.; also four sons, Edgar, Henry, Leandre and Gerald, all of Moncton. The remains were taken to Moncton and will rest at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. Cormier, 14 Railway Avenue, until Saturday morning, when the funeral will be held with requiem high mass in l'Assomption Catherdral.
