HAPE, Clarence Charles -
89, East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, formerly of Amherst, died May 4, 1996, in the lodge. Born in Ecum Secum, he was a son the late James and Abbie (Baker) Hape. He was a fisherman and boat builder and enjoyed hunting. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are daughters, Ethel (Mrs. Joseph Leger), Riverview, N.B.; Jewell (Mrs. Thomas Bateman), Wellington; Velma (Mrs. Kenneth Frizell), Lawrencetown; Pauline (Mrs. Stanley Atkinson), Truemanville; son, Carl, Amherst; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many neices and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lizzie Miller; daughter, Jean Muriel; sister, Pearle Reid; brothers, Percy, Ralph, Calvin, John, Lester, George. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst, Rev. Allan Griffin officiating. Burial to follow in Richmond Cemetery. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or any charity.
