DEATH OCCURS H. LEGER ST JOSEPH (Special) -
The death of Herman Leger of Memramcook west occurred late Monday night at Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton following an illness of six weeks. He was 74. Born in Memramcook West he was a son of the late Clement and Catherine (Gaudet) Leger. He is survived by his wife, the former Arthemise Leger; one son, Dollard of Lakeburn; one daughter, Mrs. Fred C. LeBlanc (Simonne) of St. Joseph; one brother, Dr. Gerard Leger of Moncton; four sisters, Mrs. Edouard Landry (Yvonne) of Moncton, Lorette, Adrienne and Marie, all of Memrarncook West, and six grandchildren. Prior to entering the hospitaI he was employed at the registry office in Dorchester. He worked in the grocery business for 90 years prior to his employment in Dorchester, at the C.M. Leger and son General Store in Memramcook West, which he came to own following the death of his father. The body is resting at Dupuis Funeral Home in Memramcook. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9 p.m. from the St. Thomas Catholic Church in St. Joseph. The body will be placed in the parish vault to await interment in the spring.
