Joseph William Leger
FORD BANK - Joseph William (Eymard) Leger, 80, of Ford Bank, passed away at his home on Monday, October 28, 1996 after a brief illness.
Born in Richibucto, he was the son of the late Zacharie and Suzanne (Daigle) Leger. Retired, he had been employed with Seagrams and J.D. Irving Co. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Richibucto Branch #30 for 53 years. He served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 to 1945.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan Martel (Jacques) of Borden, Ont., Virginia Leveque (Eric) of Grand Falls; four sons, William (Billy) and Glenda of Brown's Yard, Gerry and Margie of Beersville, Gene and Lucy of Harcourt, Tim and Ingrid of Ford Bank; one brother, Gerard of Sault-Ste-Marie; 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Josh, Shannon, Niomi, Stacey, Jason, Tabitha, Michael, Tammy, Melissa; three great grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Ryan; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Dorina, Simida, Emma, Yolande; four brothers, Edgar, Tim, Dick, Leopold.
Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto With visiting hours Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Brown's Yard on Friday, November 1. 1996 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Jeffries officiating. Interment in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery in Brown's Yard.
