GRANDE-DIGUE, NB - Mathilde Fontaine, 101, widow of the late Edgar Fontaine (1987), of Résidence Famille Doucet, Grande-Digue, NB and formerly of Notre-Dame de Kent, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 after a brief illness. Born in MacDougall Settlement, NB on July 10, 1902 she was the daughter of the late John Lirette and Marie Rose Léger. She was a housewife and attended the Notre-Dame du Sacré Coeur Roman Catholic Church, Notre-Dame de Kent. She was a member of NotreDame Golden Age Club. She is survived by two sons, Hervé (Hélène) of Moncton, Ovila (Rosette) of MacDougall Settlement; one sister, Léona Arsenault of Moncton; two grandchildren, Michel, Gisèle; five great grandchildren, Patrick, Natacha, Marius, Maxime, Denys; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two daughters in infancy; three sisters, Marie, Régina, Euphenie; five brothers, Alyre, Edouard, Fred, Laurie and Alphée. Resting at Notre-Dame du Sacré Coeur Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Notre-Dame de Kent with visitation on Thursday, August 21 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Friday from 9 to 10:45 am. The funeral service will be held at Notre-Dame du Sacré Coeur Roman Catholic Church, Notre-Dame de Kent on Friday, August 22, 2003 at 11:00 am. Interment to take place in the Parish Cemetery.
