The death of Joseph Arias Gallant of 9 Yvon Court, Moncton, occurred Saturday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 66. Born in Barachois, he was a son of the late Adelard and Leonie (Leger) Gallant, He was a former employee of the C.N.R. retiing in 1954 after 24 years service. He was a veteran of the Second World War. His first wife, the former Alecine LeBlanc died in 1936. His second wife died in 1971. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Paul and Mrs.Sarah Landry, both of London, Ont., Mrs. Hans Kalkbrenner (Doris) of Kitchener, Ont., and Mrs. Yvonne Wenzlawski of Galt, Ont.; four sons, Camille of Toronto, Leonard of London, Ont., Yvon of Moncton, and Raymond of Kitchener, Ont. ; five sisters, Mrs. Yvon Gould (Edna) of Moncton, Mrs. Nap Doiron (Aurore) of Shediac, Mrs. Lorraine Levey of Toronto, Mrs. Don Eldrigdes (Marie) of Edmonton, Alta.; two brothers, Arthur of Shediac and Ovila of Toronto; 25 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body is resting at Frenette's Funeral home, Shediac, with the funeral to be held Wednesday at St. Henri du Barachois Roman Catholic Church at a time to be announced, Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
