LEGER, Hector -
97, Main Street, Shediac, N.B., passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 27, 1997, after a brief illness. Born in Petit Cap, Que., he was a son of the late Honore and Emma (Sonier) Leger. He was a former employee with Canadian National Railway and School District 13, before retirement, and attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac. He is survived by his wife, Emelie (Richard) Leger; daughters, Georgette Belliveau (Camille), Lillian Frankoski (Stan), both of Sarnia, Ont.; Anita Mitchell (Fred) and Jeanne Telfer (Bob), both of Truro; Hectorine Leger (Alvin), Montreal, Que.; Bernadette Castonguay, Fredericton; sons, Jean (Margaret), Rochester, N.H.; Arthur (Rita), Shediac; daughters-in-law, Linda Leger, Pennsylvania; Betty Leger-St.-Pierre, Cocagne; son-in-law, Louis Sarvary, Rochester, N.H.; 103 descendants. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Henri and Leo; daughter, Lorette Sarvary; brothers, Napoleon, Willie; sister, Mennie. Mr. and Mrs. Leger celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on November 9, 1996. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 248 Main St., Shediac, with visiting hours today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac, on Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. In his memory, donations to the Canadian Red Cross Society; New Brunswick Extra Mural Hospital, Shediac Division, or donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
