SHEDIAC - Mr. Hector Léger, 97, of Main Street, Shediac passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 27, 1997 after a brief illness.
Born in Petit Cap, he was the son of the late Honoré and the late Emma (Sonier) Léger. A former employee with Canadian National Railway and School District #13 before his retirement and attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac.
He is survived by his wife, Emelie (Richard) Léger; six daughters, Georgette Belliveau (Camille), Lillian Frankolski (Stan), both of Sarnia, Ont., Anita Mitchell (Fred) and Jeanne Telfer (Bob), both of Truro, N.S., Hectorine Leger (Alvin) of Montreal, P.Q., Bernadette Castonguay of Fredericton; two sons, Jean (Margaret) of Rochester, N.H., Arthur (Rita) of Shediac; two daughters-in-law, Linda Leger of Pennsylvania, Betty Leger-St-Pierre of Cocagne; son-in-law, Louis Sarvary of Rochester, N.H.; 103 descendants. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Henri and Leo; a daughter, Lorette Sarvary; two brothers, Napoléon, Willie and a sister Minnie. Mr. and Mrs. Léger celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on November 9, 1996.
Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 248 Main Street, Shediac (5323297) with visiting hours on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac on Saturday, March 1, 1997 at 11 a.m. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.
