ALLAIN, LAURIE (1918-2003) -
Laurie Allain of Richibucto, NB passed away on Friday, February 21, 2003 at Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne, at the age of 84. Husband of Doris (Arsenault) Allain, he was born in Cap-Lumière, NB to the late Patrick Allain and Baselice (Leger) Allain. Laurie retired from Kouchibouguac National Park in 1984 and had also been employed with the Department of Public Works as an Inspector for 10 years. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 30, Richibucto and a member of the Richibucto Golden Age Club. He served with the Provost Corps. Canadian Army during W. W. 2. Laurie is survived by his wife Doris, eight daughters: Cecile Meade (John) of Fredericton, Aurena Murray (Bernie) of Fredericton, Leontine Legault (Michel) of Richibucto, Geraldine of St. Louis de Kent, Denise Robichaud (Maurice) of Richibucto, Monique Martin (Yvon) of Richibucto, Jacinthe Savoie (Roger) of Dieppe, and Laurida Ells (Philipe Jr.) of Grand Manan; three sons: Albert (Lucy) of Hamilton, ON, Ronald (Carmen) of St. Charles, and Clarence (Monique) of Debert, NS; thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one sister Rita Mazerolle (late Edmond) of Richibucto; one brother Joseph (late Jeannine) of Cap-Lumière. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters: Edna Gallant, Lilianne Gallant, Premelia Leger and seven brothers: Dollard, Emile, Yvon, Arthure, Alban, Adelin, and Armand. Visitation will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home, 33 Acadia St., Richibucto on Monday 2-4 and 7-9, and Tuesday at noon until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis de Gonzague R.C. Church, Richibucto on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. Interment in Aldouane R.C. Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the NB Lung Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Veterans Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
