1924 - 2005
SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Lorne Legere, age 80, of Sackville, NB occurred on Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the Drew Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness. Born in Sackville, NB on May 14, 1924, he was the son of the late Edmee (nee Legere) and Mathias Legere. Lorne was a veteran of WWII having served with the Algonquin Regiment in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany, and is a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26, Sackville. Lorne will be sadly missed by his wife, Helen (Richard) Legere of Sackville, NB; daughter, Celeste (Peter) MacLean of Sackville, NB; grandson, Nick MacKay of Sackville, NB; sisters, Elise (Tootsie Landry) of Sackville, NB and Phyllis McFee of Sackville, NB; and brothers, John (Flora) Legere of Memramcook, NB and Camille Legere of Gardner, Mass, USA. He was predeceased by his grand-daughter, Amanda; sisters, Ina and Mary, and brothers, Hector, Roy, Fred and Edward. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 10, 2005 from 9:00 AM until the time of departure for the Funeral Mass, which will be held at Saint Vincents Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, NB at 11:00 AM. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26, Sackville will hold a legion service at 10:00 AM on Thursday morning at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring in the Holy Rosary-Saint Vincent Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lorne may be made to the charity of ones choice.
