Mrs. Florine Melanson-Gauvin, 89, of Résidence Aventure, Elmwood Drive, Moncton, passed away Thursday, November 11, 1999, at the Moncton Hospital.
Born February 10, 1910, in St-Paul, she was the daughter of the late Albenie Leger and the late Rose-Anne Belliveau.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeannine Brun and Alfreda Cormier (Raymond), both of Moncton; three sons, Gerard Melanson (Gloria) of Charlottetown, Paul Melanson (Gisele) of Shediac, Vincent Melanson (Mandy) of Caissie Cape; three step-daughters, Gloria Steeves, Claudette Fitzsimmons (Donald), Doris Johnston all of Moncton; three step-sons, George Gauvin (Maria) of Flordia; Leo-Paul Gauvin of Moncton, Jean-Marie Gauvin of Ottawa; a sister, Eloise Sawyer of Weisner; two brothers, Raymond Leger (Marguerite) of St-Paul; Lionel Leger (Beatrice) of St-Antoine; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Camille Melanson; her second, Ernest Gauvin, and five brothers, Philibert, Johnny, Freddy, Emery, Leandre Leger; a step-son Ronald Gauvin.
Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Saturday 7-9 pm, Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Monday from 9:30 am until time of departure (10:35). The funeral mass will be held Monday, November 16, 1999 at 11 am at St-Jacques-le-Majeur Roman Catholic Church, Scoudouc, Father Georges LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be in Scoudouc, NB.
