1912-1997
Mr. Léo J. Bourque, 85, of Maple Street, Moncton, passed away Sunday, April 13, 1997 at The Moncton Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born in Grande-Digue, N.B. on January 7, 1912, he was the son of the late Antoine Bourque and the late Evangeline Leger. He was a veteran of W.W.2, having served with the Royal Canadian Navy. Following the war, he worked at C.N., then as a Mill Wright for the Independant Lock Company in Fitchburg, Mass. before retirement, and moving back to Moncton. He was also a 3rd Degree Member of Knights of Columbus Council #7952, and a member of Club d’Age d’Or Christ-Roi Moncton.
He is survived by his wife, Stella (Melanson) Bourque of Moncton; two daughters, Gloria LeBlanc (Jean-Louis) of Moncton, Marie-Claire Femino (John) of Fitchburg, Mass.; three sons, Lóo-Paul of Lunenburg, Mass., Ronald (Diane) of Brookline, Mass., Jean-Guy (Dana) of Northbridge, Mass.; three sisters, Rita Goguen of Gardner, Mass., Juliette LeClair of Pompano Beach, Fla., Anita LaCelle (Claude) of Montréal; two brothers, Blair of Shediac, Camille (Adrienne) of Montréal, 14 grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Yvonne Boucher, and three brothers; Alphonse, Emile, and Henri.
Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton. Visiting hours are private and not public. The memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 1997 at 11 a.m. from Christ-Roi Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, Father Maurice Leger officiating. Cremation followed by interment in St-Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Shediac.
