Rose Legere
JAY — Rose Legere, 91, of Jay, died early Thursday morning at her home on Jewell Street.
She was born in Chisholm, Dec. 5, 1908, a daughter of Adjutor and Zenaide (Gosselin) Breton. She received her education at St. Rose Parochial School in Jay and on June 11, 1928, married Leo Legere at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He died Oct. 25, 1998.
Mrs. Legere was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She also was a member of the Jay/Livermore Falls Senior Citizens. Mrs. Legere enjoyed knitting, quilting, baking pies, socializing with family and friends, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Adrian and his wife Marie of Jay; four daughters, Theresa Legere, Mrs. Robert (Jeannine) Perreault, Mrs. Larry (Aline) Purington all of Jay, and Mrs. Andre (Marguerite) Castonguay of Livermore; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Lucien; her brothers, Amedee, Archie, John, and Wilfred; and sisters, Medora, Anna, and Aurore.
