Tilman N. Legere - Amherst -
Tilmon N. Legere, 88, of 5 Clifford Street, Amherst, died Thursday in Highland View Regional Hospital. Born in Cape Pele, N.B., he was a son of the late Mathias and Madeleine (Gallant) Legere. He was a retired employee of Dominion Manufacturers Limited. Prior to this he was employed with the former Canada Car and Foundry Co. Ltd. He was a member of the St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by six daughters, Laura (Mrs. Gerald McArdle), Madeleine (Mrs. Amiee Vautour), Suzanne (Mrs. Felix Gauthier), Eva (Mrs. Raymond Gould), Andrea (Mrs. James Rhindress), and Irene, all of Amherst; five sons, Ulric, Cape Pele; Regis, Dieppe, N.B.; Aris, Nappan, N.B.; Edgar, Warren and Francis, Amherst; two sisters, Delena (Mrs. Raphael Comeau), Cape Pele; and Rose (Mrs. Herman Henrie), Livermore Falls, Maine; four brothers, Leon and Leo, Livemore Falls; and Emele and Fred, Jay, Maine; 47 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Dina Fagan and a son, Matt. The body is at Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral mass will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
