SAINTE-MARIE DE KENT, NB - Désiré Bastarache, 79, of Saint-Lazare Farm Road, Sainte-Marie de Kent, passed away on Sunday September 8, 2002 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton after a brief illness. Born on March 26, 1923, in Sainte- Marie de Kent, he was the son of the late Adelin Bastarache and Edna Martin. He was a construction worker. Attended Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Sainte-Marie de Kent and belong to Sainte-Marie de Kent Golden Age Club. He was a World War II Veteran. He is survived by two sisters, Lorraine Boucher of Gardner, Mass., Vina Légère (Gérard) of Shediac; one brother Oswald (Emma) of Sainte-Marie de Kent; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by one sister, Philomène (2001); two brothers, Clorice (1972), Yvon (2001). Resting at Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent with visiting hours Monday September 9 from 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45. Funeral service will be held at Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Sainte- Marie de Kent on Tuesday September 10, 2002 at 7:00 pm. Interment in Parish Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
