Edgar Belliveau
NORWICH - Edgar J. Belliveau, 79, of 47 Sturtevant St., a church sexton, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at W. W. Backus Hospital where he was admitted Monday.
Mr. Belliveau was born Aug. 21, 1894, in Amherst, Nova Scotia, the son of Joseph and Mary Vienneau Belliveau.
He came to the United States 52 years ago and had lived in Norwich since then.
He was a sexton at Sacred Heart Church, Norwich Town, and had been a foreman for 35 years at the former Glen Woolen Mills.
Mr. Belliveau was a member of Sacred Heart Church and White Cross Council, nights of Columbus and the Holy Name Socitey.
His wife, Mary Ryan Belliveau, died Dec. 3, 1971.
Survivors include sevens sons, John, Edward, Michael, Clarence, and Robert, all of Norwich, Thomas of Bozrah and the Rev. Norbert Belliveau of Warrenville; three daughters, Mrs. Edward Oloff and Mrs. Henry Perkowski, both of Norwich, and Mrs. Jean LeBlanc of Lisbon; a sister, Miss Ann Belliveau of Middleton, Nova Scotia; 35 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Labenski Funeral Home to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at Sacred Heart Church, Norwich Town. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
