Jacqueline "Jackie" Meier
SHEDIAC, NB - Jacqueline "Jackie" Meier, 58, of Shediac passed on to another dimension on 9th of March 2006 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital, Moncton following a courageous battle with cancer. Born Jacqueline Marie Yvette Martin on the 12th of August 1947 in Dinard, France, she was the daughter of Louise Hervé and the late Edmond Martin. She came to Canada in 1970. Jackie spent most of her working life in the Hospitality industry. She had a great passion for cooking and sharing with friends; especially Nancy and Carol. She loved spending time with her flowers. Roses were her favorites. She is survived by her mother Louise Hervé of France, her common law husband Yvon Léger; her daughter Isabelle Campbell (Christopher) and grandchildren: Peter and Joshua of Quispamsis; her son Roy Meier (Kim) and grandchildren: Kyle and Brandon of Ontario; her sister Andrée Salvatore of Mantova, Italy, her brother Jean-Luc (Christine) of France. She was predeceased by her father Edmond Martin and a brother Claude. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Karen Melanson, the nursing staff of the palliative care unit and 3A floor of the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital and especially Dr. Whitlock for the excellent care given to Jackie during her illness. As per Jackie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a gathering in her memory at Frenette Funeral Home, 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Saturday, March 18, 2006 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A prayer service and sharing of memories will be held at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital Foundation (Palliatif care unit) would be greatly appreciated. www.frenettefuneralhome.com Do not stand at my grave and cry.
