Mrs. I. Richard Shediac (Special) -
Mrs. Irene Richard, 76, of Smith Avenue, Shediac, died Monday at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a brief illness. Born in St. Antoine, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Belzeme (Breau) Leger. She attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac, and was a member of Les Femmes Chretiennes, Shediac, Golden Age Club and the Chorale de Shediac. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Gerard Lesard (Lucille) of Cap de la Madeleine, Que., Mrs. Fernande Richard of Quebec City, Mrs. Gaston Saucier (Dorine) and Mrs. Bernard Lesiege (Murielle), both of Tracy, Que., Mrs. Gerard Arsenault (Simonne) of Beresford and Mrs. Kirk Bowman (Gemma) of Leamington, Ont.; five sons, Guy of Baie Comeau, Que., Paul Emile and Alderice, both of Shediac, Donald of Baie Trinite, Que., and Ulysse of Campbellton; a sister, Mrs. Aquila Surette (Dorilla) of St. Antione; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Emile, in June; and by a sister, Lodia, and five brothers, Alphonse, Leandre, Ovila, Leonard and Yvon. The body is at Frenette's Funeral Home, Shediac. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
