ROGERSVILLE (Special) - The death of Aquilla Richard, of Rogersville, occurred Tuesday at Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a short illness. He was 68.
Born in St. Charles, he was a son of the late Napoleon and Rosanne (Daigle) Richard.
He was a retired Canadian National Railways employee, where he had worked for 25 years. He attended the Rogersville Roman Catholic Church.
His first wife, the former Elise Blanchard, died in 1968.
He is survived by his second wife, the former Angeline Arsenault; three daughters, Mrs. Fernand Pineau (Annette), Saint John, Mrs. Bernard Doucet (Jeanitta), Fredericton and Mrs. France Arsenault (Fernande), Toronto; seven stepdaughters, Mrs. Eddie Doucet (Denise), Mrs. Robert Leger (Reganne) and Mrs. Therese Schram, all of Moncton, Mrs. Euclide Thebeau (Linda), and Mrs. Ovide Robichaud (Jeannine) both of St. Paul, Mrs. Lucien Doiron (Cecile), Acadieville, and Mrs. Guy Lesage (Yvette), Rouyn, Que., a son, Gerard, Saint John; two stepson, Robert, Ontario and Roger, Rogersville; two sisters, Sister Rosanne, St. Quentin and Mrs. Sydney Leger (Zelia), Dieppe; three brothers, Theodore and Adelard both of Moncton and Edmund, Black's Harbor; and 23 grandchildren.
The body is resting at the Rogersville Roman Catholic Church Hall. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. from the church. Entombment will be in the Rogersville vault to await interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
