Pierre Leger
1911 - 1998
Mr. Pierre Leger, 87, of Queensway Drive, (Parkton) Moncton, passed away Friday, July 17, 1998, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital.
Born in St. Joseph, NB, he was the son of the late Willie and the late Exelda (LeBlanc) Leger. Mr. Leger attended Notre Dame de Grace Roman Catholic Church, Parkton. He was retired from CN as a Pipefitter with 33 years of service. Mr. Leger was an avid card player and bowler, also a member of the Club d’Age d'Or Notre-Dame-de-Grace and a member of the Knights of Columbus #6468 Notre-Dame-de-Grace.
He is survived by three daughters: Phyllis (Cecil) Morton of Moncton, Dorine (Louis) Melanson of Dryden, ON and Francine (Gabriel) Guitard of Belledune; five sons: Raymond (Lorraine) of Moncton, Leo of Montreal, Robert (Judy) of New Scotland Rd, Paul (Jeannette) of Notre-Dame and Romeo (Sylvie) of Ste. Foy, PQ; one sister, Yvonne Leger of Moncton; two brothers: Alfred (Jeannette) of Cormier's Cove, NB and Joseph (Venoria) of Moncton; 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and also by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Leger was predeceased by his 1st wife Marie LeBlanc in 1986, his 2nd wife Georgina Doucett in 1993; one son Romeo; three sisters: Nelida, Anna-Marie and Marie and by three brothers: Vital, Dollard and Joseph.
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Sunday, July 19th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held from Notre-Dame-de-Grace Roman Catholic Church, Parkton, on Monday July 20, 1998 at 9:30 a.m. with interment in Notre Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
