O. Melanson Cocagne (Special) -
Oscar Melanson, 64, of Cocagne died Thursday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton after a lengthy illness. Born in Cocagne, he was a son of the late Albert and Marie (Leger) Melanson. He was employed with the Department of Transportation for several years. He is survived by his wife, the former Therese Melanson; one son, Robert of Cocagne; six brothers, Emile, Edmond and Erenee, all of Cocagne, Gerard and Arsene, both of Moncton, and Alphee of Sudbury, Ont.; four sisters, Mrs. Bernadette LeBlanc of Buctouche, Mrs. Jean-Baptiste Cormier (Irene) and Mrs. Antoine LeBlanc (Albertine), both of Cocagne, and Mrs. Francis LeBlanc (Murielle) of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. The body is at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church, Cocagne, where funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Maillet Funeral Home, Buctouche.
