    RANG SAINT-GEORGES - Au Centre hospitalier de l’Enfant-Jésus de Caraquet, le dimanche 18 août 2002, à l’âge de 89 ans et huit mois, est décédé Roméo Goupil, époux de feu Estelle Raiche, domicilié à Rang Saint-Georges. Il était fils de feu Stanislas Goupil et de feu Christine Légère. Il laisse dans le deuil trois fils: Raymond (Pauline Duguay) avec qui il demeurait et Ronald (Martina Gautreau), tous deux de Rang Saint-Georges, Onile (Murielle Frigault) de Paquetville; deux filles: Anne (Marcial Gautreau) et Mireille (Paul Arseneau), toutes deux de Alderwood; une bru, Émilie Thériault de Notre-Dame-des-Érables; une belle-soeur, Alphonsine McGraw de Saint-Isidore; huit petits-enfants et quatre arrière-petits-enfants. M. Goupil était la dernière personne vivante de sa famille immédiate. Une fille, Diane (en bas âge), ainsi que quatre frères: Adelard, Joseph, Azade et Théodore, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 19h, le lundi 19 août, au salon LeGresley de Paquetville. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Augustin de Paquetville, le mardi 20 août, à 19h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le lundi 19 août, de 19h à 21h et le mardi 20 août, de 14h à 16h et de 17h à 18h30. La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire LeGresley de Grande-Anse.

    The passing of Mary Iris Georgina "Jean" Gallagher, wife of the late Charles Gilbert Gallagher, of Zionville, NB, occurred on March 4, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 2, 1924, in Blissfield, Northumberland County, NB, she was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Eugenia (McLeod) Kervin. Jean is survived by one daughter, Constance Legere (Richard) of Lincoln, NB; one son, Robert Gallagher (Irene) of Geary, NB; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Priscilla Veno (Ralph) of Weaver Siding, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, Gary Gallagher and 13 brothers and sisters. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Monte Peters officiating. Interment will take place in Zionville Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Paul Legere (Tanya) of Nackawic, NB and daughter, Patricia Hanson (Paul) of Burtts Corner, NB; four grandchildren, Nathaniel and Brayden Legere, Sam Belliveau and Sarah Hanson; two sisters, Nora O'Donnell (Frank) of Bloomfield, NB and Linda Wickens (Paul) of Hamilton, Ontario; two brothers, Ronald Legere of Hamilton, Ontario and Wesley Ramsay (Sue) of Hamilton, Ontario; several nieces and nephews.     ACADIEVILLE - À la Villa Acadie d’Acadieville, le dimanche 13 avril 2008, à l’âge de 77 ans, est décédé Alcide Daigle, domicilié à Acadieville. Né à Acadieville, il était fils de feu Michelle Daigle et de feu Livina (Daigle) Daigle.

    Il laisse dans le deuil trois soeurs: Dora Légère de Richibouctou-Village, Zelica Daigle de la Villa Acadie et Noëlla Barrieau d’Acadieville, ainsi que quatre frères: André Daigle de Bouctouche, Livain Daigle de Montréal, Gerard Daigle de Saint-Ignace et Nazaire Daigle de Gardner, Mass.

    Un frère, Calixte, l’a précédé dans la tombe.

    M. Daigle a travaillé pour le Canadien Pacifique à Saint-Jean, pendant 20 ans, au département du chargement et de l’expédition.

    Les visites se feront à compter de 19h, le vendredi 18 avril, en l’église Immaculée-Conception d’Acadieville. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Immaculée-Conception d’Acadieville, le samedi 19 avril, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial, plus tard ce printemps.

    Hélène Léger of Foyer Saint-Thomas passed away at her residence on Saturday March 22, 2008 at the age of 93. Born in Lynn, Mass, she was the daughter of the late Albert Bourque and the late Julia Caissie. She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Léger of Memramcook; two daughters, Cécile (Bob) Perry of Toronto and Bernice (Ed) Léger of Owen Sound, ON; three grandchildren, Anne, Brian, Shawna; and five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Lindsey, Ryan, Cory and Lisa. She was predeceased by her husband, Henri E. Léger; one sister, Lucy; and two brothers, Leo and Henry. Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, 15 Rte La Vallée, Memramcook on Wednesday March 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 6:30 pm. Funeral mass will be held at Saint-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church, Saint Joseph on Wednesday March 26 at 7:00 pm.     Mrs. Mary Allain Buctouche, May 10 -(Special) -

    Mrs. Mary Allain, widow of the late Arcade Allain, passed away at the home of her son, Arthur on Thursday last after an illness of twelve days duration. A native of Prince Edward Island the deceased was formerly Miss Mary Arsenault, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses Arsenault of that place. She was eighty years of age. Mrs. Allain was well and favorably known and her passing comes as a sad shock to a host of friends and relatives. She is survived by three daughters and four sons. The daughters are Mrs. Robert Thibodeau, of Rogersville; Mrs. Ernest LeBlanc and Mrs. Victor Fournier, of Salem, Mass.; and the sons are, James of Saint John; Louis, Arthur and Edmund, of Buctouche. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Dan Leger and Mrs. Sam Casey, of Fitchburg, Mass., and two brothers. John Arsenault, of Fitchburg, Mass., and Albert Arsenault, of New York. The funeral took place Saturday morning from the Allain home to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, where service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. Phillip Hebert. Interment was made in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. The pallbearers were, Messrs. E. McPherson, Oliver A. LeBlance, Melas Collet, Fred Babineau, Francois A. Allain and T. Allain.

    The many friends of Mrs. Aquila Leger, of Caissie Cape, will regret to learn of her death which occurred Monday of this week after an illness of eight days. The deceased was 35 years of age and was well known in that section of the county. She leaves to mourn, her husband and five children. The funeral took place Tuesday morning with high mass at 8 o'clock, Rev. Father Emile Gallant officiating. The pallbearers were Edgar Gauvin, Evariste, Emile, Aurel, Arsene and Wilfred Hebert.

    Relatives here have received word of the death of Thomas J. Cormier, which occurred at he home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Legere, in Fitchburg, Mass., on Thursday, April 3. Mr. Cormier was 68 years of age, and his death came after a few days of illness. He is survived by four daughters and two sons. The daughters are, Mrs. D. Richard, Sackville; Mrs. Peter Legere and Miss Claudia, Fitchburg, and Celestina (Sister Louise Helen), of Columbus Hospital, Grand Falls, Montana.The sons are Adislas, Moncton, and Fidele, of Lynn, Mass. The funeral will be at Fitchburg.

    After an illness of but one day, there passed away at his home, in St. Thomas, a highly respected resident of that district in the person of Henry B. Robichaud. Mr. Robichaud's passing came as a shock, not only to his imediate family, but also to a wide circle of relatives and friends who deeply mourn his passing. The deceased was born 74 years ago at St. Francis, Kent County, a Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Belonie Robichaud. He had made his home in St. Thomas district for a considerable number of years, where he was light keeper of the Dixon Point Range lights, a position which he had faithfully filled for over 53 years. The late Mr. Robichaud, who at the time of his death was a widower, had been twice married. In religion the deceased was a devout Roman Catholic. Surviving are two sons, Zepherin and Edmund, both of St. Thomas; one step-daughter, Lydia, Mrs. Arcade Leger of Cocagne; also two sisters, Rev. Sister St. Liquori, of Sherbrooke, P.Q., and Mrs. Tasie Allain, of New Bedford, Mass., U.S.A. the funeral was held Monday morning at 8.30 o'clock from the family home to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, where requiem mass was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Father Philippe Hebert. Interment was afterwards made in the Roman Catholic cemetery. Prayers at the grave were said by Rev. Father Hebert. The funeral was attended by a large number, evidencing the esteem in which the deceased was held. The pall-bearers were Edmund Robichaud, son of deceased; Joseph Leger, Henry Leger, Arcade Leger, Arcade Cormier and Henry Cornier, all relatives of deceased.

    The death of Thadee Drisdale, of Petitcodiac and formerly of Upper Aboujagane, occured at the home of Mr. Philomin Melanson, Barachois, this morning at 5.30 o'clock after an illness of about six months. The deceased was 68 years of age and was a resident of Petitcodiac for 30 years prior to comming to Barachois some six months ago. Mr. Drisdale was a harness maker by trade. Possessed of a pleasing personality and of spendid character, he had a wide circle of friends who will deeply regret to learn of his passing. He leaves to mourn his passing, two brothers, Calixte Drisdale, of Moncton, and Louis Drisdale, of Upper Aboujagane; three sisters, (Leonie) Mrs. Placide Melanson, of Upper Aboujagane; (Annie) Mrs. Thibeau Leger, of Barachois, and (Mary) Mrs, Aime Oullette, of Bourgeois Mills. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon from St. Henry's Church, Barachois, with Rev. Father Edgar LeBlanc officiating.

    The death of Philip H. LeBlanc occurred at the home of his son, Adolphe LeBlanc, at Little Cape, on Monday at 8 p.m. The deceased was 81 years of age and had been ill a month. He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Justine Brun, of Cape Bauld; two daughters, (Pelagie) Mrs. Andrea Jacob, Little Cape, and Mrs. Ferdinand Leger, Shediac Cape, and three sons, Arthur, Charles and Adolphe, all of Little Cape. Three brothers, Edward, of Lewisville, Jake,of Shediac and Patrick, of Auburn, Mass., and one sister, Mrs. Ruphene Pellerin, of Shediac, also survive. The funeral took place Wednesday morning at St. Timothy's Church, Shemougue, at 8 o'clock. High mass was sung by Rev. Father Camille LeBlanc. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Adolphe A. LeBlanc, Edward and Fred LeBlanc, Clovis Jacob, Philip and Adolphe LeBlanc.

He was 83 years of age and the last member of his family of five. The deceased leaves to mourn, his wife, who before her marriage was Mathilde Boudreau of Barachois, and one son, Arthur, of Moncton. The funeral took place Wednesday morning at St. Henry's Church. Barachois, Rev. Father Edgar LeBlanc officiating at mass. The pallbearers were Raymond Boudreau, Alfred, Leandre, Albenie, Elric and Raymond Leger.

    One of the community's oldest and most highly esteemed residents, Etienne Leger, of Scoudouc, passed away at his home here yesterday at the age of 89 years. Well known throughout the district, Mr. Leger enjoyed the esteem and friendships all of whom deeply mourn his passing. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning. Burial will take place in the cemetery here.

    The death of Etienne Leger, of Scoudouc, occurred at the age of four score and nine after a short illness. The deceased, who resided with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Melanson was well known thoughout the district and had a wide circle of friends who will regret to learn of his passing. He leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. Charles Melanson, of Scoudouc, with whom he resided, and Mrs. LeBlanc, of New Bedford, Mass. The funeral took place this morning at nine o'clock from Saint Jacques le Majeur Church, Scoudouc, with high mass. The pallbearers were Camille, Armand, and Charles Melanson, Edward Vautour, Albert Pellerin and Fred Gautreau. Many cards of sympathy as well as many spirtual remembrances were evidence of the high esteem in which the deceased was held.

Arseneault, époux de Rita Arseneault, domicilié à Tracadie-Sheila. Né le 10 mai 1913, il était fils de feu Ferdinand Arseneault et de feu Clarisse Cool. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil une fille, Odette (Clarence Légère) de Tracadie-Sheila; un fils, Valmond (Jacqueline McLaughlin) de Tracadie-Sheila; une soeur, Imelda Lebreton (feu François Lebreton) de Saint-Sauveur; quatre frères: Jacques (Alfreda Arseneault) et Yvon (Georgina LeBreton), tous deux de Tracadie-Sheila, Alexis (Alma Arseneau) et Émile (Lillianne Hall), tous deux de Gauvreau; quatre belles-soeurs: Vénérante (feu Edgar Arseneault) et Lydia (Roméo McGraw), toutes deux de Tracadie-Sheila, Délina (feu Alphonse Arseneault) de Beauharnois, QC, et Louisa (feu Edmond Arseneau) de Tilley Road; quatre beaux-frères: Léo Arseneault (Georgina) de Saint-Isidore, Ludger et Joe, tous deux de Sudbury et Jim Gautreau de Pont-Landry; cinq petits-enfants: Brian, Kevin, Dave, Jason et Cynthia; une arrière-petite-fille, Geneviève, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Trois soeurs: Mélanie, Marie et Marie, ainsi que deux frères: Edgar et Alphonse, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée au salon funéraire «La Colombe» de Tracadie-Sheila. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Tracadie, le lundi 11 décembre, à 16h30. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Coopérative funéraire «La Colombe» ltée.

    MONCTON - À l'Hôpital régional Dr Georges-L. Dumont de Moncton, le lundi

    25 septembre 2000, à l'âge de 84 ans, est décédé Emile Mallais, domicilié à la Villa du Repos de Moncton. Né à Tracadie-Sheila, il était fils de feu Firmin Mallais et de feu Séraphie Landry_

    Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Rita (Ferguson) Mallais (après 59 ans de mariage); ses filles et fils: Eva Bourque (Rhéal) et Albert (Gloria), tous deux de Fredericton, Sally Jones {Harry) de Calgary, Norma Sponagle (Wayne) de Toronto, Pat (Stella} et Bill (Claire), tous deux de Moncton et Arnold (Janis) de Truro; un frère, Irenée; trois soeurs: Yvonne Breault de Tracadie-Sheila, Geneviève Légère et Sr Cécile Mallais, toutes deux de Saint-Basile, ainsi que 19 petits-enfants et plusieurs neveux et nièces.

    Sept frères: Adélard, Valère, Alphonse, Félix, Zoël, Rhéal et Roméo, l'ont précédé dans la tombe.

    La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le mercredi 27 septembre, à la Maison funéraire Ferguson Knowles, 1657, chemin Mountain à Moncton (858-1995). Les funérailles auront lieu en l'église «Immaculate Heart of Mary», rue Fatima à Riverview, le jeudi 28 septembre, à 1lh.

    Heures de visites: le mercredi 27 septembre, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le jeudi 28 septembre, de 9h30 à 10h30.
