    M. Arthur Z. Bourque

    M. Arthur Z. Bourque, de Trois-Ruisseaux, N.-B., est décédé, soudainement, à l'Hôpital Moncton, le 12 septembre à l'âge de 58 ans.

    Originaire de Cap-Pelé, N.-B., il était fils de Zoël et Alma (née Brun) Bourque. Charpentier, de son état, il avait cessé de travailler l'an dernier. Il faisait partie de la paroisse Sainte-Thérèse d'Avila, de Cap-Pelé. Combattant de la Seconde guerre mondiale, il était membre de la section 91 de la Légion canadienne à Cap-Pelé.

    Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Madeleine (née Comeau) Bourque; quatre filles: Mme Ovila Jacob (Jeannette), Mme Hervé Landry (Aline), Angela et Carmel, toutes de Cap-Pelé; cinq fils: Norbert, Réginald, Léo-Paul, Benoït et Donat, tous de Cap-Pelé; deux soeurs: Mme Armand Bourque (Marguerite), Mme Cloris Cormier (Léona), toutes deux de Shédiac; deux frères: Alyre, de Cap-Pelé; Willie, de Shédiac; deux demi-frères: Freddie LeBlanc, de Cap-Pelé; Réginald LeBlanc, de Petit-Cap, ainsi que quatre petits enfants.

    La dépouille mortelle est exposée au salon funéraire Frenette, à Shédiac. Les visites sont de 14 à 16 heures, puis de 19 à 21 heures. Les funérailles auront lieu mercredi, à 11h00, avec service funèbre en l'église Sainte-Thérèse-d'Avila et inhumation dans le cimetière paroissial.

    Mary Virginie Legere, 87, West Havre Boucher died Saturday at Home. Born in Isle Madam, Richmond County, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Levangie. She is survivied by several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of here immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Phillias Legere, four sisters and five brothers. The body is in the family residence in West Havre Boucher. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. William DeCoursy officiating burial in parish cemetery.

She was a member of the St John's Roman Catholic Church, Springhill. She is survived by four daughters, Mary (Mrs. Fred Landry), St. Peter's; Florence (Mrs. Charles Pye), Pugwash; Mrs. Louise Ripley, Springhill; Mrs. Shirley Beaton, Calgary; a son, Ronald, Springhill; two sisters Rose (Mrs. Arthur Clarke), Springhill; Mrs Janet Babineau, Woodstock, Ont.; a brother Rudy, Woodstock, Ont.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Earnest Joseph; a brother, Edward; a sister, Cecelia. The body is in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Carl Kelly officiating. Creamation will follow. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    Mrs. A. LeBlanc Shediac (Special) -

    Mrs. Arthemise LeBlanc, 92, of Villa Providence, Shediac, widow of Blair LeBlanc and formally of Robichaud, died Sunday at the residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Petit Cap, she was a daughter of the late Calixte and Suzanne (Leger) LeBlanc [sic for Melanson]. A retired employee of Emile J. Bourque fish processing plant, Leger Brook, she attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac. She was a former member of Les Dames Chretienne, Cap Pele. Her husband died in 1967. She is survivied by a daughter, Mrs. Patrick Leger (Lumina) of Villa Providence; a son, Yvon of Robichaud; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A daughter, Alvina, died previously. The body is at St. Therese d'Avilla Roman Catholic Church where funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Frenette's Funeral Home, Shediac.

La direction des funérailles fut confiée à la Maison funéraire LeGresley de Grande-Anse.

He worked for many years as supervisor at Claytons Limited and J&M Murphy and owned his own tailoring business known as Tony the Taylor in the Roy Building, Barrington Street, for the past 20 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Doris Legere; daughter, Christine (Mrs. Errol Williams), Halifax; three grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie (Mrs. James Matheson), Gloria (Mrs. Fred Hickey), both of Halifax; two brothers, Frank, Halifax; George, Calgary. He was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Edgewood United Church, Young Street and Connaught Ave., Rev. John Tapscott officiating. No flowers by family request. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or any charity.

She was a member of Elizabeth Temple Pythian Sisters, Rebekah Lodge where she was past noble grand and a member of Trinity-St. Stephen's United Church, where she was a member of the UCW Unit 1. She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Mrs. Archie Legere), Nappan; son, LeRoy, Amherst; three sisters, Lena Lines, Nellie (Mrs. Edward Shannon), Annie LeBlanc, all of Amherst; brother, Earl, Amherst; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Glenford; son, Robert; three brothers, Cecil, Albert, John. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. tonight in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst. He is survived by his wife, the former Trudy Brenton; daughter, Laura; son, Michael, both at home; three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Ryan, Toronto; Julie Legere, Edmonton, Alta.; Constance Legere, Fredericton; maternal grandmother, Alma Campbell, Plaster Rock; parents-in-law, Marjorie and Gordon Brenton, Hantsport.     She is survived by two daughters, Fernande (Mrs. Donald Nowlan) of Waltham, Mass., USA Jeannette (Mrs. Gerald LeBlanc) of Saint John; two sons, Oscar (Jeannine) of Lancaster, Mass., USA, and Ronald (Marguerite) of St-Antoine de Kent; two sisters, Honorine (Mrs. Arthur Bourque) of Rogersville; Stella Haché of St-Antoine de Kent; three brothers, Alban (Juliette), Emile. (Léota) and Laurie (Yvonnie), all of St-Antoine de Kent; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Aimée Girouard; a sister; Sophie; four brothers, Aurele, Alice, Léonide and Yvon.

    Born July 27, 1912 in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Albert and Marie (Leger) Melanson. He was a retired Farmer and Fisherman. He attended St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church in Cocagne and was a member of the Golden Age Club, Cocagne.

    He is survived by his wife, Florine (Fougère) Melanson; four sisters, Irene (Jean Baptiste) Cormier of St. Thomas, Murielle LeBlanc of Moncton, Bernadette LeBlanc of Bouctouche, Albertine (Antoine) LeBlanc of Cormierville; three brothers, Irenée (Helene) of Cocagne, Gerard of Moncton, Arsene (Patricia) of Cocagne; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Emile, Alphée, Oscar, Lionel and one sister, Lina.

    Resting at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church, Slumber Room, Cocagne, with visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.. Funeral mass will be held at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church in Cocagne on Thursday, May 11, 1995 at 4 p.m.

He worked for many years at the Halifax County Rehabiltion Center, Halifax County School Board and Canada Post. He appeared in the Golden Globe award winning documentary Lost Children of the Empire and a book of the same name. He was a well-respected member of the community and a lifetime elder of the United Church, Cole Harbour. Surviving are his wife, the former Joan Coomber; sons, Charles E. (Chuck), Porters Lake; Fred G., Sackville; Robert M., Alberta; daughters, Glenice (Mickey) (Mrs. Chip Chippett), Whitehorse, N.W.T.; Susan (Mrs. Alex Legere), Cow Bay; Jennifer (Mrs. Allan Gilbert), Lawrencetown; Christine, Linda, Cole Harbour; Deborah, Sault St. Marie, Ont.; Nancy Johnston, Lawrencetown; Ruth (Mrs. Wade Rent), Three Fathom Habour; Lisa (Mrs. Kim Johnston), Lake Echo; 27 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Gerald, Harold (Sonny), Phillip, Thomas; two grandchildren; great-grandchild.     Born in Cap Pelé, she was the daughter of the late Dosithé and Marie (Leger) Melanson. She was a retired employee with Marven's with over 50 years service. She attended Assumption Cathedral Roman Catholic Church.

    She is survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Melanson of Moncton; three nieces, Linda, Lorinda and Marie; three nephews, Paul, Raymond and Henri. She was predeceased by one sister, Eva; one half sister, Bella; five brother, Raymond, Souverain, Henri, Antoine and Abel; one brother-in-law, Donat Vienneau; one sister-in-law, Alice; one niece, Margaret-Ann; one nephew, Larry.

    Rested at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton, visiting hours were held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral. Funeral mass was held at Assumption Cathedral Roman Catholic Church, Moncton on Monday, May 20, 1996 at 11 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dieppe.

    HINES, John Neil (Jack) -

    60 Alderney Dr., Enfield, died June 1, 1996, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Mountain) Hines. He was employed for over 30 years with the Ministry of Transport at the Halifax International Airport, until his retirement. He was a avid outdoorsman and bowler. Surviving are his wife, the former Eleanor Fleet; son, Danny and partner Krista, Rhines Creek; daughter, Mary (Mrs. Paul Leger); granddaughter, Stephanie Leger, both of Fredericton, N.B.; brothers, Wheldon, Dartmouth; Donald, Porters Lake; Paul, Lawrencetown; Robert, Dartmouth; sister, Molly Fiander, Kingston. He was predeceased by brother, Victor. Funeral 2 p.m. today in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Rev. Paul Granville S.J. officiating. Burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Lung Association.
