Memramcook West (Special) - Leo Melanson, 85, of Memramcook West died Monday died Monday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a brief illness. Born in Memramcook West, he was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Melanson) Melanson. A retired carpenter, he attended St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook. He is survived by his wife, the former Melanie Allain; five daughters, Mrs Emery Landry (Aline ) of Moncton, Mrs. Gerard Richard (Huberts) and Mrs. Camille Bourque (Mary-Louise), both of Dieppe, and Mrs. Alphe Fagan (Lauraine) and Mrs. Guy Boudreau (Yvonnisse), both of Waltham, Mass.; three sons, Norman of Belliveau Village, Laurie of Waltham, Mass., and Adrien of Memramcook West; a sister, Mrs. Alderic Belliveau (Lacienne) of Moncton; three step-sisters, Mrs. Eugene Leger (Annie), Mrs. Leandre LeBlanc (Marguerite) and Mrs. Raymond Poirier (Nathalie), all of Moncton; two step-brothers, Gerard Melanson, both of Memramcook West; 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A sister; Mary, and a brother, David, died previously. The body is at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook, at 7 p.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

SHEDIAC RIVER, NB - Mrs. Sara Babineau, 80, of Shediac River Rd., Shediac River passed away on Monday, December 2, 2002 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Newbury Port, Mass., March 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John Arsenault and the late Almina Despres. She is survived by one daugther , Camilla Clements (Bob Vansnick) of Shediac; one son Rodolphe Babineau (Marguerite) of Shediac River; six sisters, Aurore Goguen and Juliette Goguen of Shediac River, Jeannette Léger and Fernande Savoie of Shediac, Florence Hébert of Moncton, Dorilla Vautour of Cap-Pelé; four brothers, Alderice Arsenault (Eva) of Newbury Port, Mass., Léonard Arsenault (Diana), Roméo Arsenault (Lilianne) and Robert Arsenault (Beverly) all of Shediac River; three grandchildren, Brian, Bonnie, Rachel; three great grandchildren, Tommy, Alana, Johnathan; one sisters-in-law, Marguerite Arsenault of Shediac River. She was predeceased by her husband Albénie in 1991; two brothers, Roméo and Roger Arsenault. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visitation on Tuesday from 7 to 9p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and on Thursday from 10a.m. until time of departure at 10:40a.m. The funeral mass will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at la Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue.
