    Edward "Eddie" Halloran, 72, of Trois-Ruisseaux passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton with his family by his side. Born October 1, 1935 in Antigonish, N.S., he was the son of the late Patrick and Mary (Phalen) Halloran. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Caroline (Léger) Halloran; two daughters, Dianne Gallant (Claude) of Grand-Barachois, Donna LeBlanc (Sylvio) of Trois-Ruisseaux; two sons, Tommy (Jeannette) and Ryan (Maryse) of Trois-Ruisseaux; eleven grandchildren, Shawn, Derek, Jennifer, Randy, Darren, Josée, Ashley, Chelsey, Kailey, Danie and Alex (XOX). Also survived by three sisters, Doreen Lombardo (Frank) and Sara-Ann Avery (Carman) all of Guysborough, N.S., Margie Dorton of Halifax, NS; three brothers, Raymond (Nina), Neil and Johnny Halloran all of Guysborough, N.S.; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Kevin and Kenneth. He was a retired carpenter and former employee of Campbell Soup Co. where he worked for 15 years. Ed loved watching the birds, working in the garden, watching TV and making wood projects in his shed. Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, from 1 p.m. until time of departure (1:50 p.m.). Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of N.B. or to the Dr. Léon Richard Oncology Center of the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital would be appreciated. The deceased lady, who was in the fifty-fourth year of her age was born at Aboujagane, N.B., March 30, 1879, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Leger. She was highly respected by all who knew her and her death will be deeply regretted. She is survived by her husband and several children. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning with service in the L'Assomption Church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Shediac Road cemetery.

    At LeBlanc Office, parish of Shediac, Dosithe O. LeBlanc, a highly respected resident of that, village, passed away recently at the age of 85 years. He had been ill only a few days. He leaves to mourn a son, Adolphe, and three daughters, Mrs. Hypolite Richard (Louisa), Mrs. William Poirier (Zoe), and Mrs. Hypolite Leger (Sylvie). The funeral took place at St. Therese's Church here, the pastor Rev. Father Donat Robichaud, officiating. The pallbearers were, Jose Richard, Adelaid LeBlanc, Phileas Babineau, Fabien Richard, Dosithe RIchard and Arthur Melanson. Burial was in the Cape Bauld cemetery.

    Andre J. Belliveau, 87, Succumbs to Short, illness-
    Was one of pioneer residents of district -
    A brother of late Dr. L. G. Belliveau, of Shediac -
    Death last night claimed one of Westmorland County's oldest and most highly respected citizens, in the person of Mr. Andre J. Belliveau, pioneer resident of St. Joseph's who passed away in the Hotel Dieu Hospital here following an illness of about two weeks. The deceased was a native of St. Joseph's and had reached the long age of 87 years. He was a son of the late Mr.and Mrs. Joseph Belliveau and was widely known and highly esteemed throughout Eastern New Brunswick. He was a prosperous farmer and his place in the beautiful Memramcook valley was one of the finest agricultural holdings to be found in that section. Besides his wife, formerly Miss Sarah Leger, the deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. A.P. Garom, of Rimouski, Que., also a niece, Miss Marquerite Belliveau, of Shediac, and a nephew, Mr. Leandre T. Belliveau of Melanson Co. Ltd., jewellers, of this city, as well as many other relateves. The late Dr. L.J.Belliveau, one of the best known medical practitioners in this section of the province was a brother. The body will be forwarded to his late home in St. Joseph's this afternoon and the funeral will be held from there on Monday morning to St. Thomas Church, Memramcook, where solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated by Rev. Father Dismas J. LeBlanc, D.D. C.S.C. after which interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

    BAS-CARAQUET - À l’Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont de Moncton, le dimanche 20 janvier 2008, à l’âge de 78 ans, est décédé Benoît Légère, domicilié à Tracadie-Sheila, mais autrefois de Bas-Caraquet. Il était fils de feu Joseph Légère et de feu Anne-Marie Lanteigne.

    Il laisse dans le deuil une soeur, Estelle (feu Gérard Parent) de Saint-Jean; une soeur adoptive, Armandine (feu Raymond Chiasson) de Marathon, Ont.; neuf frères: Henri (Emma Gionet) de la Villa Beauséjour de Caraquet, Lionel (Rita) de St. Catharines, Ont., Cageton (Marie) de Boisbriand, Qc, Nicholas (Jeanne d’Arc Lanteigne) de Whitby, Ont., Alcide (Sharon) de Langley, C.-B., Gérard (Heidy) de Bernaby, C.-B., Jean-Eudes (feu Itha Chiasson) d’Oshawa, Ont., Dr Hermel de Bas-Caraquet et Hédard (Ozélie Boudreau) de Shédiac; un frère adoptif, Léonard Gionet (Edna Friolet) de Bas-Caraquet, ainsi que plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, cousins, cousines, neveux et nièces.

    M. Légère a travaillé pour GM pendant 33 ans à Oshawa, Ontario.

    La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le mercredi 23 janvier, au salon de l’église de Bas-Caraquet. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Paul de Bas-Caraquet, le jeudi 24 janvier, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial, au printemps.

    Heures de visites: le mercredi 23 janvier, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le jeudi 24 janvier, de 9h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles.

    À la demande de la famille, un don à la Fondation canadienne du rein serait apprécié.

    La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire Racicot de Caraquet.
