    MELANSON, Irene - 92, Amherst, passed away in Gables Lodge in Amherst on Thursday, November 30, 2006. Born in Mill Creek, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Jennie (DesBarres) Terrio. Irene was a long term member of Nativity of Our Lady Parish, and Nativity of Our Lady Parish CWL; past president, she was a recipient of the Maple Leaf Service Pin. She was an amateur historian and genealogist who researched and compiled many families' histories. Irene was awarded the Canadian Heritage Award for the restoration of St. Denis' Church in Minudie. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Fred Melanson, West Amherst; sons, Warren (Anne Matheson), Halifax; Arnold (Eleanor), Truro, and Gerald (Patricia Robertson), Halifax; grandchildren, Andrea, Nadine, Sarah and Joseph; great-grandson, Nicholas; sister, Francis Legere, River Hebert; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant sister, Modeste; brothers, James, Ronald, Jude, and Joseph, and great-granddaughter, Jenica Saulnier. Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (667-8777). Visitation will take place in Furlong~Jones Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will take place at the funeral home Sunday night at 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the St. Charles site of Holy Family Parish, 63 Church St. on Monday at 10 a.m., Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Burial will take place in Saint Charles - Nativity Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Restoration Committee of St. Denis Church, Minudie. www.furlongjones.ca.

    William C. (Bill) Milner 1922 - 2006 SACKVILLE - The death of William C. (Bill) Milner, age 84, of Sackville, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home on Sunday, December 3rd, 2006. Born in Sackville, he was a son of the late Clayton and Sarah (Tower) Milner. Bill was a veteran of World War II serving with the 13th Field Regiment Canadian Army in Normandy, Holland and Belgium having come ashore in Normandy early on D-Day June 6th, 1944. He was a life member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a member of St. Ann's Anglican Church, Westcock. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Rita (Legere), Sackville; sons, Michael (Jean), Lower Sackville, NS, Marc (Barbara), Fredericton, NB; and a daughter, Margaret (David) Devenney, Windsor Jct., NS; six grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah (Mike), Ian, William (Jen), Kristin and Cameron; and one brother, Joseph (Thelma), Sackville. He was predeceased by a sister, Elsie in 1970. Bill's remains have been forwarded for cremation under the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street., Sackville (506-364-1300). Bill's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, December 6th, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm. The Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will have a memorial service at 7:30pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Ann's Anglican Church, Westcock on Thursday, December 7th, 2006 at 11am, Rev. Father Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial in the Westcock Cemetery.     William C. (Bill) Milner 1922 - 2006 SACKVILLE - The death of William C. (Bill) Milner, age 84, of Sackville, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home on Sunday, December 3rd, 2006. Born in Sackville, he was a son of the late Clayton and Sarah (Tower) Milner. Bill was a veteran of World War II serving with the 13th Field Regiment Canadian Army in Normandy, Holland and Belgium having come ashore in Normandy early on D-Day June 6th, 1944. He was a life member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a member of St. Ann's Anglican Church, Westcock. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Rita (Legere), Sackville; sons, Michael (Jean), Lower Sackville, NS, Marc (Barbara), Fredericton, NB; and a daughter, Margaret (David) Devenney, Windsor Jct., NS; six grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah (Mike), Ian, William (Jen), Kristin and Cameron; and one brother, Joseph (Thelma), Sackville. He was predeceased by a sister, Elsie in 1970. Bill's remains have been forwarded for cremation under the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street., Sackville (506-364-1300). Bill's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, December 6th, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm. The Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will have a memorial service at 7:30pm. Funeral services will be celebrated at the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 at 10am. Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. www.chartersville.com.

Informations Biographiques

Anita était une personne autodidacte, généreuse, aimable et surtout, déterminée. Elle a consacré sa vie à son mari, à ses enfants et à sa grande famille, à les aimer, à toujours être présente et à leur écoute. Elle savait aider, conseiller et voir le bon côté de chacun. Sa gentillesse et son sourire savaient toucher le cœur de tous ceux qui la croisaient.
Elle était passionnée par plusieurs passe-temps, entre autres, le tricot, le crochet et la lecture. Elle était une mordue de l’actualité et une femme de grande foi; elle faisait la lecture de la messe à tous les jours. C’était une cuisinière par excellence et elle écrivait quotidiennement dans son journal personnel depuis des années. Voilà ce qui fait en sorte qu’Anita ne s’est jamais ennuyée.
Elle était la pierre angulaire de la famille et va beaucoup nous manquer. Elle était et sera pour toujours, une grande inspiration.
Depuis 62 ans, elle adorait passer ses étés au chalet à Cap-Bimet (Grand-Barachois) près de la mer.3
