Informations biographiques

The death took place Tuesday morning suddenly in Lewisville of Mr. Alphee P. Bourque, death occurring about 8:30 o'clock. Mr. Bourque had not been feeling well for the past two weeks, but kept around as usual, and yesterday morning arose from bed, dressed and was conversing and joking with his family when he suddenly took an ill turn and died shortly afterwards, the cause of death being heart trouble brought on by acute indigestion. Deceased had been an employee of the C.N.R. for the past twenty years and was the last son of a family of thirteen children.

The deceased was well and very favorably known by the railway men on this devision. His genial manner won for him a number of admiring friends and his sudden demise will be sincerely regretted.3

She received her education at the Convent of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. She was a devoted member of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, of the Ladies of St. Anne, the Society for the Propagation of the Faith and of Notre Dame du Cap. Prior to leaving Sackville to take up permanent residence in Port Elgin folowing her marriage, she had also served as organist and member of the Holy Rosary Church choir In Sackville.1

Beatrice had been active in St. Clement's Parish as organist, member of CWL and Dames de Ste-Anne, visiting the sick and advising all who sought her counsel. She enjoyed traveling, including an unforgettable trip to Rome to see Pope John Paul II, when she was 82, and on to England and many parts of Canada and USA. Music, drama, photography, and sports were a big part of her life. She was a great Blue Jays' fan and collected many souvenirs of the team. She kept abreast of current news, on TV as well as from three local papers both English and French. Her extensive family and friends were privileged to have the benefit of her wisdom and counsel.2 Béatrice a été très active au sein de la paroisse St. Clement en tant qu'organiste, membre de la CWL et de Dames de Ste-Anne, visitant les malades et conseillant tous ceux qui lui demandaient conseil. Elle aimait voyager, y compris un voyage inoubliable à Rome pour voir le pape Jean-Paul II, à l'époque où elle avait 82 ans, en Angleterre et dans de nombreuses régions du Canada et des États-Unis.
