Evelyn Leblanc, 89 Native of New Brunswick; longtime Fitchburg resident Sentinel & Enterprise
FITCHBURG -- Evelyn (Gautreau) Leblanc, 89, of 208 Pratt Road, died Monday, Feb. 8, in Birchwood Care Center.
She was born Jan. 9, 1910, in Shediac, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Denis and Marceline (Leger) Gautreau, and had lived in Fitchburg for the past 76 years.
Mrs. Leblanc was a member of St. Joseph's Church and both its Ladies of St. Anne and Ladies of Fatima sodalities.
She leaves her husband of 67 years, Leon J. Leblanc; two daughters, Sister Pauline Leblanc and Sister Linda Leblanc, both with the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fitchburg; nephews and nieces.
Two sisters, Alma Gautreau and Mary Bourque, died in 1975 and 1996 respectively.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St.
