Death Of A. Poirier SHEDIAC BRIDGE (Special) -
The death of Armand Poirier occurred at Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, Moncton, Monday after a long illness. He was 52. Born here, he was a son of the late Leandre and Ann (Poirier) Poirier. He was employed with Swift's Co. Ltd. in Moncton prior to his illness. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Royal 22nd Regiment overseas. He is a member off the Royal Canadian Legion, Shediac branch No. 33. His parents died in 1966. Besides his wife, the former Anita Leger, he survived by one son, Michael in Toronto; one daughter, Mrs. Theodore Hull (Sharon Ann) of Moncton; eight sisters, Sister Berthilde Poirier and Sister Edith Poirier, both of Montreal, Mrs. Louis Robichaud (Jeanne D'Arc), Mrs. Romeo Leger (Bernadette), Mrs. Daniel Kerrigan (Claudette), Donald Boucher (Marguerite), all of Waltham, Mass., Mrs. George Young (Maria) of Montana, and Mrs. Louis LeBlanc (Angeline) of Windsor, Ont.; five brothers, Rene of Shediac Bridge, Dismas of Waltham, Bernard of Moncton, Ola and Guy, both of British Columbia; one grandchild and one step grandson. A military funeral will be held from Richard's Funeral home, Shediac, Thursday at 3:30 p.m. followed by funeral mass from Grand Digue Roman Catholic Church at 4 p.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Grand Digue. The body is resting at Richard's, Shediac.
