Therese G. Hamel of Leominster, active at St. Cecilia's; 74 LEOMINSTER Therese G. (Collette) Hamel, 74, of Leominster, died Friday, February 27, 2009, in her home after being stricken ill. She was born on October 11, 1934, in Leominster, Massachusetts was the daughter of Alyre and Germaine (Leger) Collette. She was a graduate of St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School Class of 1953. Therese was devoted to her family and her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Cecilia Parish in Leominster, she was always involved in the parish, having taught CCD and worked at the parish fairs. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Paul O. Hamel of Leominster; two sons, Stephen Hamel and his wife, Susan of Templeton, MA, and Thomas Hamel and his wife, Johnnie of Sacramento, CA; three daughters, Linda Weaver and her husband, Lawrence, Carol Coller and her husband, Joseph, Nancy Nadeau and her husband, Derrick, all of Leominster; a sister, Lorraine Collette of Leominster; 11 grandchildren, Becky Hamel, Timothy Hamel, Sarah Hamel, Kristy Colleton and her husband, John, Kimberly Moniz and her husband, Andrew, Matthew Weaver, Jaclyn Davis and her husband, Joshua, Haley Szidat, Joshua Hamel, Christopher Hamel, Madison Hamel; and a great-grandson. HAMEL The funeral will be held on Tuesday March 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 168 Mechanic Street in Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Leominster.
