LEBLANC, VICTOR - 1921 - 2011 -
Victor LeBlanc, 90, of Oasis D’Or de Dieppe and formerly of 59 Coronation Drive, Moncton NB, passed away on Wednesday, July 27th, 2011, exactly one week after his 90th birthday, at the Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. Born in St.-Anselme on July 20th 1921, he was the eldest of fifteen children of the late Adelard and the late Seraphine (née: LeBlanc) LeBlanc. Mr. LeBlanc spent 23 years as Branch Manager of Guilfords Ltd. in Moncton and retired in 1980. He was a WW II Royal Canadian Air Force Veteran, past president of Moncton Construction Association and NB Council of Construction. He was also a past member of the Beausejour Curling Club where he enjoyed many years of competitive curling. He is survived by his children: Paul (Pat) LeBlanc of Riverview, Dianne Gauvin of Dieppe, Don (Adrienne) LeBlanc of Dieppe, Joanne (Alan) MacCormac of Cornwall, PE, Shirley (Rick) O’Brien of Berryton and Nicole Nadine Christensen of Halifax, NS; four brothers: Gerard (Gloria) of Dieppe, Bernard of Framingham, Mass, Raymond (Anita) of Waltham, Mass and Lorenzo of Dieppe; seven sisters: Francesca LeBlanc-Beauchamp of Montreal, QC, Stella (Ben) James of Labrador, Yolande LeBlanc of Dieppe, Huberte (Reginald) Leger of New Hampshire, Annette LeBlanc and Phyllis (late Ronald) Landry, both of Dieppe and Norma (Gerry) LeBlanc of Waltham, Mass; one sister-in-law, Freda LeBlanc of Dieppe; 11grandchildren: Marcus (Nancy) LeBlanc, Melissa Girouard, Kimberley Gauvin, Mike (Renee) Gauvin, Denis (Sonia) LeBlanc, Lynne LeBlanc, Jeffrey (Bridgett) MacCormac, Terry (Cindy) MacCormac, Jason Ross, Jessie McGrath Christensen, Josh (Brittany) McGrath; two step-grandchildren: Jennie (David) Henry and Jody O’Brien; 15 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Victor will always be remembered by his loving children as a caring father who dedicated his time providing for his family. He will also be missed by special friends: Sherald Sutherland and Paul-Emile Gauvin. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Lena (née DesRoches) in 1998 two brothers: Omer and Camille and also by one sister, Marguerite “Margot”. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB 857-1901, on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from the Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011 at 11 am. Interment in Saint-Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or a memorial of choice would be appreciated by the family.
