The death of Joseph Poirier of 379 Beausejour Street, Dieppe, occurred Monday at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 61. Born in Shediac Bridge, he was a son of the late Jacques and Justine (Bourgeois) Poirier. He was employed for over 30 years with Canadian National, retiring in 1976, and attended St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe. He is survived by his wife, the former Agathe Babineau; one daughter, Mrs. Dollard Leger (Michele) of Moncton; three sisters, Sister Jacqueline Poirier, n.d.s.c, Moncton, Sister Corinne Poirier, n.d.s.c ., Moncton and Sister Jeanne Poirier, n.d.s.c., Nova Scotia; Three brothers, Edgar of Grande Digue, Louis of Moncton and Harve Poirier of Shediac Bridge. The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home, Moncton. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a m. Wednesday at the St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, with interment in the Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery.
