Léandre Poirier
1926 - 2005
TORONTO, ON- Léandre Poirier, husband of Irene LeBlanc of Bouctouche, passed away quietly in his sleep on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the North York Seniors' Centre in Toronto, following a lengthy illness. Born in MacDougall Settlement on October 20,1926, he was the son of the late Adélard Poirier and Madeleine Léger. Besides his loving wife, Irene, he is survived by his son, Clarence Poirier; his daughter-in-law, Jane; and their two daughters, Carolyn and Claire. He is also survived by four sisters, Rita Bourque (Henry), Aline Boudreau (Paul), Bernadette Robichaud (Gérard), Thérèse Boland; and seven brothers, Robert (Marie Jeanne), Ulysse, René (Noella), Lionel (Fernande), Lawrence (Stella), Gérard (Rose), and Guy (Anna). Léandre now joins his late beloved brothers, Armand (Marceline) and Rudolphe (Léa). Léandre is resting at the Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East (between Warden and Pharmacy). Visitation from 7 to 9pm Friday, August 26, 2005. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church (Lawrence Avenue, East of Victoria Park) followed by the Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery (305 Erskine Avenue, Toronto.) In memory of Léandre, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
