T. LeBlanc Cape Bald (Special) -
The death of Thomas LeBlanc Cape Bald occurred at the home of his son, Ambroise, here Sunday following a short illness. He was 89. He was born at Cape Bald, a son of the late Ambroise and Marie (Porell) LeBlanc and was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1934. He attended the Roman Catholic Church here where he was a member of the Sacred heart league. His wife, the former Scolastique Cormier, predeceased him in 1961. Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Emile Duguay (Melendy) Lower Cape. Bald; two sons, Alfred and Ambroise, both of Cape Bald; a step-son, Pacifique Leger, Lower Cape Bald; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. The body is resting at the home of his son, Ambroise LeBlanc, Cape Bald. The funeral will be held Tuesday Jan. 19, at 11:15 a.m. in the Cape Bald Roman Catholic Church with entombment in the vault of the parish cemetery to await burial in the family lot in the spring.
