FRANCIS LEGER COCAGNE, N. B., Feb. 23 -
Many will learn with deep regret the passing of Francis Leger which occurred at the Hotel Dieu Hospital on February 5. He was born at Cocagne 30 years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arcade Leger. Besides his wife, formerly Yvonne Richard, of Notre Dame, he leaves three small children, his parents, four brothers and five sisters, Aquila and Edmond, Cocagne; Alphonse, of St. Anthony, N. B., and Joseph, of Black's Harbour, N.B. Rev. Sister Marie Germaine, superior of the mission of Notre Dame of the Sacred Heart, Drummond, N. B., Mrs. Arias Goguen (Aurore), Blanche, Cocagne; Mrs. Alphonse Allain (Aline), Mrs. Jean Pierre Gallant (Lucie), of Black Harbour, N. B. The funeral took place on Saturday, February 8th., from his late residence to St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Cocagne, where High Mass of Requiem was sung by the pastor, Rev. Alphe Gaudet. The pallbearers were Arias Goguen, Raymond Cormier, Alphonse Allain, Jean Pierre Gallant, brothers-in-law, Henry Cormier, cousin, and Fred LeBlanc. Among the relatives from outside points who attended the funeral were: Rev. Sr. Marie Germaine, Drummond, N. B.; Rev. Sr. Marie Roberts, of St. Joseph's Convent, Moncton; Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Allain, Mr. and Mrs. Jean Pierre Gallant and Joseph Leger, Black's Harbour N. B.; Mr. John Richard, Notre Dame, father-in-Law; Tilmon Richard, an uncle; Raymond Cormier, Misses Lorraine and Rita Richard, all of Notre Dame; Messrs, Henry Cormier and Edmond Robichaud, Dixon Point; Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Leger, St. Anthony and others.
