E. Poirier Ste. Marie (Special) -
Emile Poirier, 77, of Villa Beausoleil, Ste. Marie, died Friday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Ste. Marie, he was a son of the late Joseph and Annie (Allain) Poirier. A retired farmer and wood scaler, he was a founding member and director of Ste. Marie Caisse Populaire. He was also a commisioner of Ste. Marie School and a member of Ste. Marie Golden Age Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Leola Savoie; four sons, Guy of Newcastle, Yvon of Ste. Marie, Joseph of Dieppe and Paul-Emile of Moncton; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Allain (Jacqueline), Mrs. Gerald LeBlanc (Maria) and Mrs. Paul Leger (Julia), all of Moncton, and Mrs. Rodrique Levesque (Yolande) of St. Quentin; three brothers, Irenee of Ste. Marie, and Gerard and Alderice, both of Moncton; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Gagon (Nelida) of Waltham, Mass., and Mrs. Huntley McLaughlin (Clarisse) of Moncton, 15 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The body is at Ste. Marie-de-Kent Roman Catholic Church where funeral mass will be celebrated Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery later in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Maillet Funeral Home, Buctouche.
