ROBICHAUD, Bernard A. Sr. -
70, Halifax, passed away peacefully in the VG Site, QEII, Palliative Care Unit on April 18, 2007. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Ernest and Alice (Legere) Robichaud. He was well-known through his involvement with hockey while he played with the Monarch Hockey Association as well as playing for Oland's, Keith's, and Marcom Aces Senior A Baseball. He was a police officer and driving improvement officer and for 30 years he worked as a taxi driver in the city of Halifax. He will be missed by his best friend and partner, Carolyn DeLorey and her family and is survived by sons, Bernie (Annette) Robichaud, Moncton; Joseph Robichaud, Halifax; and daughter, Suzanne (Mark) Jobb, Lower Sackville; sister, Eleanor (Clary) Flemming, Bedford; and grandchildren, Renee, Moncton, and Samuel, Lower Sackville. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by visitation until 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, in Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen St., with interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
