Mrs. Theotime Leger -
The death of Mrs. Theotime Leger, occurred at her home at St. Anthony, Kent County, last Sunday, aged 70 years. She was formerly Miss Virginie Maillet, and was born at St. Mary's, and was highly esteemed and respected by a wide circle of friends and relatives. She leaves to mourn five sons, Jeremiah, Bangor, Maine, Fred, Bristol, Conn., John, of the C.N.R.. Moncton, Henry and Albert, at home and two daughters, Mrs. Simon Leger, Gardner Mass., and Mrs. Adelard Poirler, MacDougall's Settlement, N. B. The children were all at home before the passing of their mother, and were at her bedside when death took place. Five sisters, Mrs. Sylvain Albert, Mrs. Sylvain Roy, Mrs. Calice LeBlanc, Mrs. Jude Bourque, and Miss Madelaine Maillet, also one brother Oliver Maillet, also survive. The funeral took place on Wednesday, April 24th, with service being conducted at St. Anthony's by Rev. Father Allain. The pallbearers were the five sons, Jeremiah, Henry, John, Fred and Albert, and her son-in-law, Adelard Poirier. Many floral tributes, spiritual offerings and mass cards, were received expressing deep sympathy and bearing silent witness to high esteem in which the deceased was held.
