The death of Leonide Gagnon, of 114 McKay Ave., occurred Sunday at Moncton Hospital after a short illness. He was 74. Born in McDougall Settlement, he was the son of the late Irene and Domethilde (Belliveau) Gagnon. In 1976 he retired from his 45 years of work as the proprietor of the Home Best Bakery. He attended Notre Dame de Paix Roman Catholic Church in Humphrey. He is survived by his wife, the former Juliette Gautreau; one daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Leger of Shediac Bridge; two sons, Ronald of Moncton and Roger of Dieppe; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Bourque, Mrs. Joe Girouard (Premelia), and Mrs. Fred DesRoche (Alice), all of Gardner, Mass., Mrs. Nelida Bourgeois and Mrs. Marie Cormier, both of Moncton and Mrs. Marie Cormier of Irishtown; one brother, Adelard Gagnon of Irishtown, and six grandchildren. The body is resting at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church St. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Paix Roman Catholic Church.
