MacDONALD, Peter Bannon -
55, Halifax, died July 26, 1998, in the VG Site, QEII, unexpectedly after a brief struggle with cancer. Born in Halifax, Peter was the son of the late Donald E. and Helen Elizabeth (Leahy) MacDonald. Peter, recently retired, taught for many years at Gorsebrook Junior High School in Halifax. He was a dedicated husband and parent, who had looked forward to retirement days on the golf course and travel. He is survived by his wife, the former Ernestine MacDonald; children, Patricia (Tricia), Andrew, Laura and Michael, all at home. He is also survived by sisters, Anne (Mrs. Jim Cosgrove), Lunenburg; Kathy (Mrs. Hank Ejack), Saskatoon, Sask.; Shelagh (Mrs. Wayne Legere), Hammonds Plains, and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Wednesday in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax, from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Albert Cosgrove officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
