Angele E. McAllister, 70 - Angele E. McAllister, 70, died June 22 at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital after an illness. She was born November 11, 1935 in Hamilton, Ont. to Romeo Legere and the former Angele Jarbeau. She was raised and educated in Caledonia and married J. Edward McAllister there on September 17, 1955. The couple later moved to Belleville and, in July 1968, to Brockville. Over the years Mrs. McAllister worked as a telephone operator, a bank clerk and a sales person. She was a former member of the Brockville Lioness Club and served two terms as its president. She enjoyed gardening, volunteering with the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital Auxiliary and also volunteering at Prince of Wales School. She also travelled extensively. Mrs. McAllister is survived by her husband, Edward, and by four children: Mary Anne McAllister of Calgary, Christine Albert and husband David of Kenora, Glenn McAllister and wife Jackie of Kenora and Susan Simpson and husband Michael of Kemptville, as well as five grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Edward Legere and wife Bertha of Caledonia and 14 nieces/nephews. She was predeceased by her mother in 1977 and her father in 1997, and by five siblings: Monica O'Shea, Laurance Lowe and brothers Vincent, Gerald and Edward Legere. Friends called at the Barclay Funeral Home, Brockville, where on June 27 the funeral was held, with Father Tim Harrison of St. John Bosco Parish officiating. The pallbearers were grandchildren David and Alison Albert, Nicholas and Tyler Simpson and Adam McAllister. Following cremation, her urn was placed in the Oakland Cemetery Columbarium, just west of the city. Memorial donations were directed to the Canadian Cancer Society and Hospice of Providence Palliative Care-St. Vincent de Paul Hospital.
