HOULTON - Karen A. White, 52, went into her precious Savior's arms Feb. 12, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 9, 1956, in Houlton, daughter of the late Ronald Bernier Sr. and Helen (Gildard) Bernier.
Karen was a member of Military Street Baptist Church, enjoying praise and worship music and dancing before the Lord. She was a registered nurse, working for many years at Houlton Regional Hospital and Madigan Home Health Care. Karen enjoyed scrapbook-ing, baby-sitting her grandkids and camping at Matagamon. She'll be greatly missed by her friends, family, clients and co-workers.
Karen is survived by her husband, John C. White of Houlton; her mother, Helen Griffin of Troy; three sons, John White Jr. and his wife, Ashley, of Houlton, Michael White and his wife, Janna, of Linneus and Jared White of Portland; three very special grandchildren, Devynn, Thea and Jaxon; one brother, Ronald Bernier Jr. of Lewiston; a special aunt, Margaret Wolverton; nieces and nephews, David Donnelly, Jeremy and Jessica Bernier; her loving in-laws, Blake and Phyllis Donnelly; and her pups, Maggie and Hannah. She was predeceased by her father, Ronald Bernier Sr.
Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of the service 1 p.m. Monday at Military Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Due to allergies, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends make gifts in Karen's memory to the American Red Cross, care of Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730.
