A. Goguen St Anthony (Special) -
The death of Albenie Goguen, of St. Antoine, Kent County, occurred at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital Wednesday after a lengthy illness. He was 85. Born in St. Anthony, he was a son of the late Xavier and Celina (Melanson) Goguen. He was a retired farmer. He attended St. Antoine Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma (Leger) Goguen; five daughters, Mrs. Leandre Melanson (Phelia) of Moncton, Mrs. Edouard Girouard (Ella), Mrs. Alcide Cormier (Elsie), Mrs. Leo Cormier (Irene) all of Gardner, Mass., Mrs. Herve LaForest (Lina) of Quebec; three sons, Ovila and Ulysse, both of St. Anthony and Adelyre of Quebec; four sisters, Mrs. Alphee Allain (Marie), Mrs. Arthur Bastarache (Carmelite), Mrs. Henrie LeBlanc (Azelie) all of St. Antoine, and Mrs. Arthur Roy (Amenda) of Moncton; one brother, Albert Goguen of Gardner, Massachusetts; 32 grandchildre and nine great grandchildren. The body is resting at the St. Antoine Community Hall. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, September 11, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Antoine Roman Catholic Cemetery.
