P.E. Dunphy -
Peter Edward Dunphy, of 31 Walsh St., Moncton, died on arrival at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, June 29. He was 55. Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late J.J. and Elizabeth (McKibbon) Dunphy. He was a retired supervisor of the Post Office Department and a member of St. Augustine's Church. He was a member of the Mountain Ridge Golf Club and of Moncton Branch No. 6 of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a veteren of the Second World War, having served overseas with the Canadian Air Force. He is survived by his wife, the former Doris Gavin; three daughters, Mrs. Bob McCarron (Marilyn), of Saint John, Miss Linda J. Dunphy, of Halifax, and Miss Eileen A. Dunphy, of Moncton, 3 sons, Mark G., of Ottawa, Gerald M., of Halifax, and Paul J., of Moncton, 5 sisters, Mrs. O.A. Leger (Laura), of Moncton, Mrs. J.M. Dutcher (Jean), of Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Stephen Tividar (Betty), of Hana, Alta., Miss. Florence Dunphy and Miss Pat Dunphy, both of Moncton; 4 brothers, Mark, Fred, and Francis, all of Moncton, and Jack, of Montreal; several nieces and nephews, and 3 grand children. The remains are resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held from St. Augustine's Church on Friday, July 2, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
