Doris M. Legere
owned, operated the former Wee & Teen children's shop
SANFORD - Doris M. Legere, 79, of Charles Street and a summer resident of Wilson Lake in Acton, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at the home of her sister in Acton following a long illness. She was born in Sanford on April 1, 1923, a daughter of Amedee & Cordilia (Royer) Legere. She was educated at the former St. Ignatius School.
She owned and operated the former Wee & Teen children's shop for 27 years, retiring in 1974. She enjoyed bingo, bowling and playing cards.
A life long resident of Sanford, she was a communicant of St. Ignatius church, where she was a long time choir member and Eucharistic minister.
She is survived by her sister, Jeannette Webber of Acton, and a brother, Roland Legere and his wife Rita of Sanford, and 18 nieces and nephews.
Miss Legere has made an anatomical body donation to the University of New England for medical science. A memorial funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Ignatius church. Burial will be at St. Ignatius cemetery at a later date.
