J. B. Richard St. Ignace (Special) -
Jean Baptiste Richard, 78, of La Villa Maria, St. Louis de Kent, and formerly of St. Ignace, died Monday at the home following a lengthy illness. Born in St Ignace, he was a son of the late Dosithee and Suzanne (Gallant) Richard. He was a farmer, attended St. Ignace Roman Catholic Church, was a member of the St. Ignace Golden Age Club and was active in Community affairs. He is survived by his wife, the former Agnes Thebeau; seven daughters, Mrs. Claude Normandin (Albertine) of Candiac, Que., Jeannine of Montreal, Mrs Madeline Robichaud, Mrs. Louis Emile Daigle (Anne-Marie), Mrs. Omer Johnson (Roberte) and Mrs. Livian Richard (Berthe), all of St. Ignace, and Mrs. Patricia Blanchette of Laprairie, Que.; three sons, Josephat, Rosimond and Roldoph, all of St Ignace; an adopted son, Armand Thebeau of Thunder Bay, Ont.; two sisters, Mrs. Madeline Leger of Shediac and Mrs. Vitaline Richard of Richibucto; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a sister, Pauline, and an adopted son, Louis Emile Thebeau. The body is at the St. Ignace Community Centre. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the St. Ignace Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto.
