Leandre J. (Peanut) Girouard, 65, of Lakeside Estates and formerly of Lakeburn, died Friday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late Philippe and Ida (Leger) Girouard. A retired employee of Frizzell Brothers Construction with more than 30 years of service, he attended Notre Dame de Lorette Roman Catholic Church, Lakeburn. A brother, Michel and a sister, Mrs. Virginie Roy, died previously. He is survived by his wife, the former Maurguerite Meunier; seven daughters, Mrs. Emile Thibodeau (Therese) of Montreal, Mrs. Paulette Goguen and Lisa, both of Irishtown, Mrs. Michael Teed (Claudette) of Moncton, Annette and Murielle Girouard, both of Dieppe, and Rachel, at home; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Caron of St. Paul de Kent; four brothers, Edmond of Cocagne, Henri of Dieppe, and Zephir and Emile, both of Moncton and seven grandchildren. The body is at Frenette's Funeral Home, Moncton. Funeral mass will be celebrated Sunday at 2 p.m. at Notre Dame de Lorette Roman Catholic Church, Lakeburn. Burial will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
