SHEDIAC - Mrs. Odélia Goguen, 91, of Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Cocagne, passed away on Monday, September 30, 1996 at her residence.
Born June 27, 1905 in Cap-Pelé, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Emerise (Landry) LeBlanc. A homemaker, she attended St-Pierre Roman Catholic Church, Cocagne. She was a former president of the Dames de Saint-Anne and former president of the Dames de L'Institut and co-founder of the Cocagne Golden Age Club.
She is survived by two stepdaughters, Jeanne LeBlanc of St-Anselme and Lorraine (Albert Boucher) of Moncton; one son, Louis Goguen of Cocagne; one sister, Marie (Dr. Austin Delaney) of Moncton; five grandchildren Gisèle, Charles, Rachelle, Nicole and Stephen; nine great grandchildren Denys, Jacqueline, Rebecca, Nathalie, Christine, Elaine, Gabrielle, Sébastien and Becky; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Pierre Goguen in 1962; her second husband, Thaddée Goguen in 1994; one daughter, Gérarda in 1974; four sisters, Sylvie, Edith, Rita and Mai; two brothers, Yvon and Fernand.
Resting at St-Pierre Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Cocagne with visiting hours on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 and 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St-Pierre Roman Catholic Church, Cocagne, on Wednesday, October 2, 1996 at 7 p.m. Interment in Parish Cemetery.
