    DOMINIQUE LEGER

    SUDBURY, ONT. - Dominique Leger, 69, of Sudbury, Ont., passed away at Laurentian Hosptial, Sudbury on February 14, 1997 after a courageous battle with Cancer.

    Born in St. Antoine, he was the son of the Hypolite Leger and the late Marie (Cormier) Leger.

    He was survived by three brothers, Gerard and Noé of Sudbury, Leopold of Little Dover Road, N.B.; five sisters, Alice Cormier, Rita Cormier of St. Antoine, Madeleine Vautour and Anita Maillet of Shediac, Jeannine Cormier of Moncton.

    Euclide Leger

    Bouctouche - Euclide Leger, 56, of Bouctouche passed away at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on April 3, 1995 after a brief illness. Born in St. Antoine de Kent, he was the son of Mrs. Estelle (Leger) Leger and the late Elzear Leger. He was employed as a construction foreman with several constuction companies in the Waltham, Mass., USA., and Bouctouche areas, He attended St.-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche. He was past president of the local Golf Club, former president of the Bouctouche Chamber of Commerce and former president of the Chamber of Commerce Bingo Committee. He had been involved in various capacities with the local Recreational Council, the Gentleman's Hockey League, the Softball League and the Ice Arena's Board of Directors. Active in sports, he was a member of the Bouctouche Jay Cees Hockey Club and a member of a local softball team. Besides his mother, he is survivied by his wife, Anita (Boucher) Leger of Bouctouche; three sons, Paul (Anna) of Bathurst, Ronald (Norma) of Dieppe, and Marc of Buctouche; one sister, Mrs. Rheal Cormier (Camilla) of Gardner, Mass., USA; two brothers, Georges (Yolande) of Notre-Dame de Kent, Marcel (Cathy) of Gardner, Mass., USA; three grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister, Denise in 1968. Resting at Maillet Funeral Home Ltd., Bouctouche with visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6 :30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche, on Thursday, April 6, 1995 at 6:30 p.m. Interment in Parish Cemetery, Arrangements in care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.

    MELANSON, Irene - 92, Amherst, passed away in Gables Lodge in Amherst on Thursday, November 30, 2006. Born in Mill Creek, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Jennie (DesBarres) Terrio. Irene was a long term member of Nativity of Our Lady Parish, and Nativity of Our Lady Parish CWL; past president, she was a recipient of the Maple Leaf Service Pin. She was an amateur historian and genealogist who researched and compiled many families' histories. Irene was awarded the Canadian Heritage Award for the restoration of St. Denis' Church in Minudie. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Fred Melanson, West Amherst; sons, Warren (Anne Matheson), Halifax; Arnold (Eleanor), Truro, and Gerald (Patricia Robertson), Halifax; grandchildren, Andrea, Nadine, Sarah and Joseph; great-grandson, Nicholas; sister, Francis Legere, River Hebert; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant sister, Modeste; brothers, James, Ronald, Jude, and Joseph, and great-granddaughter, Jenica Saulnier. Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (667-8777). Visitation will take place in Furlong~Jones Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will take place at the funeral home Sunday night at 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the St. Charles site of Holy Family Parish, 63 Church St. on Monday at 10 a.m., Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Né à Cocagne le 9 mars 1911, il était fils de feu Amédée Langis et de feu Rosalie Bourgeois. Il laisse dans le deuil un fils, Amédée (Maria) de Notre-Dame-de-Kent; une bru, Thérèse Langis de Bouctouche; cinq soeurs: Yvonne Gaudet, Blanche LeBlanc, Lilianne Gaudet et Oliva Després (Donat), toutes de Moncton et Elise Léger (Gérard) de Sudbury, Ont.; sept petits-enfants: Lise, Nadine, Carole, Joanne, France, Réjean et Gaétan; cinq arrière-petits-enfants: Zoé, Julien, Valerie, Chloé et Anabelle, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Deux fils: Victor (1965), Alcide (2001); deux soeurs: Lorette et Germaine; huit frères: Albert, Alphonse, Valerie, Ernest, Louis, Yvon, Alphée et Félix, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 19h, le lundi 28 août, à la salle mortuaire de l’église de Notre-Dame-de-Kent.     À l’Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont de Moncton, le mercredi 18 juillet 2007, à l’âge de 84 ans, est décédé après une longue maladie Livain Cormier, domicilié à Saint-Antoine. Né à Cocagne le 8 juin 1923, il était le fils de feu Cloris et de feu Olive (née Léger) Cormier. Il laisse dans le deuil son amie spéciale, Doris Whalen de Saint-Antoine; une fille, Jocelyne Cormier (Léon Caissie) de Shediac River; deux soeurs: Maria Dollard et Cécile Allain, toutes deux de Moncton; deux frères: Eric (Alice) de Saint-Antoine et Laurie (Jeanne) de Moncton, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Les visites auront lieu à la salle mortuaire de l’église de Notre-Dame. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur de Notre-Dame, le samedi 21 juillet, à 11h. He is survived by his son; Amédée (Maria) of Notre-Dame de Kent, and one daughter-in-law, Thérèse Langis of Bouctouche; sisters, Yvonne Gaudet, Blanche LeBlanc, Lilianne Gaudet, Oliva Després (Donat) all of Moncton, Elise Léger (Gerard) of Sudbury, ON; Grandchildren, Lise, Nadine, Carole, Joanne, France, Réjean, Gaétan; Great Grandchildren, Zoé, Julien, Valerie, Chloé, Anabelle; as well as several nephews and nieces. Born in Ste-Marie-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Antoine and Imelda (Poirier) Maillet. He was employed with Colt Firearms in Hartford, Conn. for 25 years prior to his retirement. He was a past member of the Shediac Golden Age Club. He is survived by his wife, Anita (Léger) Maillet; two sisters, Antoinette Dallaire of Maynard, Mass. and Sr. Sara Maillet of Bathurst; two brothers, Jean (Rosemode) of Shediac River and Georges (Alfreda) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent; two grandchildren, Marc and Elissa; and by two great grandchildren, Victoria and Aby-Gail. He was predeceased by his son, Paul in 1997. Visitation on Wednesday, from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). There will be no visitation prior to the funeral mass.
