    81, 25 Alton Dr., Halifax, died February 10, 1997, in Glades Lodge. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Thaddie and Edith Legere. He was formerly employed at Mount Saint Vincent University and later at Garden View Restaurant for over 30 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Diane Labadie; sister, Evelyn Van Dyke, Phoenix, Ariz. He was predeceased by brothers, Alfred A., Pieus. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax. Funeral 12 noon Friday in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Ronald Cairns officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial at a later date in St. Charles Cemetery, Amherst.

    Alfred A. Legere - Amherst -
    Alfred (Alphie) Anthony Legere, 81, 4 Prince Arthur St., Amherst, died Monday in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Thaddie and Edith (Martin Pineau) Legere. He was a member of St. Charles Roman Catholic Church and Royal Canadian Legion, Amherst branch No. 10. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. He is survived by a sister, Evelyn, Arizona; a brother, Vincent, Halifax. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marjorie Carver; a brother Pieus. The body will be in Furlong's Funeral home, where visiting will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.

    72, Joggins, died August 5, 1996, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Joggins, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Kathleen (Brine) Cormier. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church and CWL in Joggins. She was an employee of Stafford Foods, Toronto, for over 15 years. She returned to Joggins in 1979. Surviving are sisters, Helen Mills, Niagara Falls, Ont.; Freda Jewers, Joggins; brothers, Joe, Amos, Joggins; Lester, Mississauga, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennie; brothers, Charlie, Alphie, Robert, Basil. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m., parish prayers 8 p.m., both today in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins, Rev. J.B. Christensen officiating. Burial in Ragged Reef Cemetery.     Armand Fougère

    SHEDIAC - Armand Fougère, 76, of Main Street, Shediac and formerly of Kitchener, Ont., passed away on Monday, October 28, 1996 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

    Born on Shediac Island, he was the son of the late Jude and Marie (Clements) Fougère. He was employed with K.C.I. School, Kitchener, Ont. before his retirement. A Veteran of the Second World War, having serviced with the Canadian Army overseas for years in England, Labrador, Nova Seotia, New Brunswick. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legions in Kitchener, Ont., Cap Pelé and Branch #33, Shediac.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife Archangéla (Léger) Fougère; two daughters, Armanda Bourque (Emery), Emily LeBlanc (Edward); three sons, Roland (Rachel), Paul and Jacques all of Kitchener, Ont.; two sisters, Stella Fagan of Montreal, Que., Elodie Fannigan of Rochesville; two brothers, Howard (Doris) of Point-du-Chêne, Jude (Geneviève) of Shediac Bridge; nine grandchildren, Debbie, Thérèse, Sheila, Chantelle, Jessie, Daniel Shane, Dale, Cory. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Florida; one half-sister, Annie Petitpas; four brothers, Vital, Alyre, Edward, Robert; three half-brothers, George, Willie, Benjamin Petitpas.

    Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 248 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visiting hours on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 fo 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac, on Wednesday, October 30, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Parish cemetery.

    Donations to Fondation Dr.-G.-L. Dumont Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Surviving are his wife, the former Louanne (Terrio) Legere; stepson, Shane Legere, at home; sisters, Mrs. Nonie Legere, Mrs. Freda Jewers, Joggins; Mrs. Helen Mills, Niagara Falls, Ont.; brothers, Josey, Amos, Joggins; Lester, Mississauga, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Charlie, Alphie, Robert. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, masonic service 7 p.m. and parish prayers 8 p.m. tonight in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst.     Au Moncton Hospital de Moncton, le dimanche 8 octobre 1989, à l’âge de 33 ans. est décédée Patricia Léger épouse de Normand Léger, domiciliée à Cormier Village Elle était fille de Marguerite Bastarache et de Arcade Cormier, de Cocagne.
    Sa fille, Sylvie, est décédé dans le même accident.
    Outre son époux et ses parents, elle laisse dans le deuil une fille, Renée; un soeur Jeannette (Oswald Maillet), de Bouctouche, ainsi que huit frères: André, de Toronto, Donat, de Moncton , Jean-Paul, Clarence, Donald et Guy, tous de Cocagne, Rhéal, de Grand Digue et Charles, de Saint-Antoine.
    La dépouille mortelle est prsentetement exposée en l’église Sainte-Thérèse d’Avila de Cap-Pelé. Les funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 13 octobre à 11h
    en l’église Sainte-Thérèse d’Avila de Cap-Pelé, et de là au cimetière de Haute-Aboujagane
    La direction des funérailles été confiée à la Maison funéraire Frenette de Shédiac.

    Mrs Lucienne Landry, widow of Ambroise Landry, died at her home at Dupuis Corner, parish of Shediac yesterday. Pneumonia was the cause of death. Mrs. Landry was born in Cape Bauld, parish of Botsford, 81 years ago, a daughter of the late Armand Cormier. She was highly regarded. She leaves to mourn eight sons, Tilmon Landry, of Springfield, Mass.; John Baptist Landry, of New Bedford, Mass.; Adolphe Landry, of Moncton; Wilfred Landry, of Cape Bauld, Edward, Alyre, Joseph and Patrick Landry, all of Dupuis Corner, two daughters, Mrs. Leger, widow of Alphee Leger, one of the six grade crossing victims at Memramcook last year, and Rev. Sister Archangela, of the Order of the Sisters of Providence, Hotel Dieu, Moncton, and a brother, Francois Cormier, of Cape Bauld. The funeral will be held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Cape Bauld, Rev. Father Donat Robichaud, pastor, on Wednesday morning.
